Water Department

WaWater Towerter is vital to our community and we are fortunate in Algoma to have a high-quality water supply. One of our priorities is protecting this natural resource!

Meter Reading & Billing

Similar to reading your electric meter, Algoma Utilities crew members collect usage data from your water meter with an automatic meter reading (AMR) device. Our data collection devices read your meter from a distance and store that information in a format that is then downloaded into our billing software to help produce your monthly billing statement.
The Wisconsin Public Service Commission approves rate cases which analyze capital improvement costs and increases rates based on cost of service studies.

Consumer Confidence Report (CCR)

The CCR Report is designed to inform you about the quality water and services we deliver to you every day. Our constant goal is to provide you with a safe and dependable supply of drinking water. We want you to understand the efforts we make to continually improve the water treatment process and protect our water resources. We are committed to ensuring the quality of your water. Cross Connection Program

Providing and maintaining a safe water supply is a priority of the Algoma Utilities and the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR). One of the many things that Algoma Utilities does to help ensure your water safety is to conduct cross connection surveys. Click on Cross Connection Program to learn more about the surveys.

The DNR requires educational material to be available to customers in lieu of normal kitchen and bathroom inspections. To read the entire brochure click on “Public Awareness: Cross Connection Control”. Public educational information will also be provided with each residential survey.
